On April 26, 2024, the Intellectual Property Agency held a round table on "Intellectual property in the modern stage" on the occasion of April 26 - International Intellectual Property Day.

Kamran Imanov, Chairman of the Board of the Intellectual Property Agency, who opened the event with an introductory speech, greeted the conference participants and noted the special importance of this day. He emphasized that this year the International Intellectual Property Day was celebrated for the first time in every part of our country, and said that the exceptional role and titanic activity of President Ilham Aliyev is based on this. K. Imanov listed the increase observed in the registration of intellectual property objects and drew attention to the achievements of the Agency in recent years.

Then K.Imanov's report on "Supporting authorship for the sake of innovation and creativity" was heard. The report stated that the individuality of the creative result leads to the legal recognition of the individuality of the author-creator and explains the concept of authorship. K. Imanov noted that authorship is a legally significant fact of the creative character of the obtained result, and it is the basis for granting the original rights to the intellectual product to the author, regardless of whether the individual creative result of the author is his own creative labour or the result of intellectual activity.

Sabina Aliyeva, the human rights commissioner (ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, made a speech and emphasized that the term "culture of protection of intellectual property rights" is a novelty. She said that K. Imanov's books on exposing Armenian lies are a valuable source in this field.

MP Siyavush Novruzov, Chairman of the Board of "Icherisheher" State Historical-Architectural Reserve Administration Shahin Seyidzade, Deputy Director of the State Agency for Science and Higher Education under the Ministry of Science and Education Aminagha Sadigov, Rector of Azerbaijan State Economics University Adalat Muradov, Gulnaz Abdullazade, vice-rector for scientific affairs of the Academy of Music, spoke at the round table and emphasized the importance of the event and highly valued the activity of the Intellectual Property Agency in this field.

Later, a press briefing was held. At the briefing, Chairman of the Board of the Intellectual Property Agency, Kamran Imanov, addressed the media representatives and answered the questions of the journalists.
