Chairman of Board of the Intellectual Property Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Kamran Imanov received employees of the US Oracle Corporation - Sales Director for Central Asia and the Caucasus Dmitry Smirnov and Technology sales representative Dilshod Mahsudkhanov.

Welcoming the guests, K. Imanov informed on the institutional reforms aimed at the development of intellectual property in the country. He noted that intellectual property issues were also included in the agenda of the 4^th meeting of the Azerbaijan-US Intergovernmental Commission held in Baku this year, and broad discussions were held.

Thanking for the reception, D. Smirnov expressed concern about the use of Oracle software products in our country on a number of occasions without a license.

The Head of the Agency said that regular measures were taken in the field of increasing respect for intellectual property and broad public awareness activities were organized. He said that it is important to address the Agency about software infringements and that appropriate measures would be taken after this information is clarified.
