The perspectives of cooperation of our country with the Eurasian Patent Organization were discussed
Chairman of Board of Intellectual Property Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan Kamran Imanov received President of the Eurasian Patent Organization Mrs. Saule Tlevlessova on December 4th. Chairman of Board of Agency noted that on the instruction of the Head of State, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, wide-scale reforms in the field of intellectual property were implemented in our country.
The Chairman of Board of the Agency informed the guest about the works carried out within the framework of the "National Project on Intellectual Property Policy at the Universities and R&D Institutes" jointly implemented with the Ministry of Education and the World Intellectual Property Organization, including the measures taken in direction of commercialization of intellectual property. He noted that Intellectual Property Agency would organize an event at WIPO Headquarters on December 18 of current year on the topic of “Development of Intellectual Property in Azerbaijan and its impact in the region: presentation of innovative and high technology startups” in cooperation with Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, World Intellectual Property Organization and International Telecommunication Union.
Kamran Imanov specially noted the appointment of candidate of our country to the post of vice-president of the Eurasian Patent Organization, emphasizing that this assignment would contribute to further cooperation.
President of the Eurasian Patent Organization Saule Tlevlessova thanked for the reception, noting that she witnessed our country’s achievements in the field of intellectual property. She expressed gratitude for the active work of our country, taking into account the adoption of the initial text of the Protocol on the protection of industrial designs in the territory of the Member-States of the Organization, taking into account the special opinions and proposals of the Republic of Azerbaijan during the last meeting of the Administrative Council of the Eurasian Patent Organization (EAPO) held in Dushanbe.
Perspectives of cooperation were discussed in detail at the meeting. Raising activity of Azerbaijani patent attorneys in EAPO Member States was noted, and their participation in online training and the opportunity to act as patent attorneys of the organization was emphasized.
At the same time, an agreement was reached on organizing a training in Baku regarding more efficient use of electronic claim system by EAPO experts.
