Chairman of the Board of the Intellectual Property Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan Kamran Imanov received the President of the Israeli-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Alex Kaplun and Chamber's Project Manager Pasha Aliyev.

Speaking about the large-scale institutional reforms carried out in our country in the field of intellectual property, Kamran Imanov said that intellectual property was adopted as a priority direction in the "Azerbaijan 2020: Look into the Future" Concept of Development, approved by President Ilham Aliyev, and touched on 8 points. Referring to the Azerbaijani-Israeli relations, the head of the Agency noted that there is close cooperation between the two countries and there is always tolerant attitude to Jews in Azerbaijan.

Thanking for the reception, A. Kaplun recalled that he was born in Baku, where he graduated from secondary school, studied in higher education, had many friends in Azerbaijan and was satisfied with the bilateral relations between our countries. He said the main task of his organization was to assist in establishing contacts between the business circles of Israel and Azerbaijan and to contribute to the expansion of their activities in both countries. Presenting the experience of establishing centers for commercialization of technology in Israel's scientific-research institutions, including starting-ups and financing, the guest pointed out that more than 7,000 startups operate in the country and about 60-70% of the population are involved in this field.

During the meeting, the sides discussed issues related to the establishment of relations with the Israeli companies in the field of innovation projects in the country, as well as the support to the Israeli-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce and Industry for joining our country's companies.
