Chairman of the Board of Intellectual Property Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Kamran Imanov, received the Dean of the Faculty of Law of the Lumiere Lyon 2 University, Professor Gioni Protier. Dean of Faculty of Law of Baku State University Professor Amir Aliyev also attended at the meeting.

Greeting the French guest K.Imanov informed about the renewal of Azerbaijan, the ability to successfully implementation of socio - economic reforms, institutional reforms aimed at the development of intellectual property as part of its diversification and innovative development path as result of the efforts of Head of State Mr. Ilham Aliyev. Mr. Imanov noted that, Agency is the legal entity of public law providing development of intellectual property rights, implementing single regulation and control and coordinating activity in this field, also participating in the formation of a single state policy in the field of intellectual property rights and ensuring the implementation of this policy. Noting that the copyright system of Azerbaijan is based on the European doctrine, in particular the French system, the Chairman of the Agency underlined the wide-ranging reforms in the field of intellectual property in general.

Highly appreciating the organization of joint master's program on intellectual property law between Baku State University and Lyon University, Mr. K. Imanov emphasized that the Agency always supports educational programs and expressed confidence that this project, which will be implemented between the two educational institutions, will contribute to the development of bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and France.

Expressing gratitude for reception, Mr. Gioni Protier emphasized that the University represented by him has prepared the project in this field for the first time with Azerbaijan among South Caucasus and Central Asian countries. He has stated that they intend to share 15-year experience of Lyon University in the field of intellectual property with the Baku State University and to begin staff training on the double diploma program in the field of Intellectual Property in the Master's degree at both Universities. The French professor noted that they are interested in the close involvement of the Intellectual Property Agency in the implementation of this project.

Dean of the Law Faculty of Baku State University Professor Amir Aliyev noted that the Agency always helped them with the teaching of subject of "intellectual property right" and that several staff members of the Agency are currently working as teachers at the faculty and thanked the Agency for its support regarding the project.
