At the Intellectual Property Agency, a meeting with students and doctoral students studying in various universities of our country, as well as young people working in the field of science was held.

Anar Huseynov, director of the Patent and Trademark Examination Center under the agency, opened the event with an introductory speech and talked about the importance of intellectual property and its role in the modern economy. He noted that on the basis of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated June 15, 2022 "On Stimulation of Inventive Activity", in order to stimulate inventive activity in our country and provide state support to this field, it is envisaged to finance by the state 50 percent of the expenses paid by the right holders-citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan for patenting inventions and utility models in foreign countries through the international system of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) and keeping them valid in the country. At the same time, it was emphasized that the Agency provides appropriate support to national inventors in order to commercialize their technologies.

Sevinj Zeynalova, head of the Invention, Utility Model and Industrial Design Examination Department of the Center, explained in detail the rules for filing national and international applications for obtaining a patent for an invention and utility model and conducting a patent search in the relevant databases of the World Intellectual Property Organization and the Eurasian Patent Organization.

Nazila Jahangirova and Alikhan Rzaguliyev, the leading advisor-experts of the same department, demonstrated practically the rules of applying for PCT and Eurasian patent, filling out applications and performing other relevant procedures.

The participants of the event shared their experiences in the field of scientific research. Then the questions of youth were answered.

It should be noted that the students and doctoral students of ADA University, Azerbaijan Technical University, Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, Azerbaijan-French University and employees of various scientific institutions attended the meeting.
