Measures on application of control marks to copyright protected goods are continuing
Isuues regarding copyright enforcement are always in the focus of Intellectual Property Agency. Event are jointly organized in this area with other government agencies, and a number of printed materials are being issued control marks as part of anti-piracy measures.
The application of control marks is of particular importance in the framework of measures to enforce intellectual property rights and fight against piracy. In this regard, relevant work is being done to prepare control marks for affixing copies of copyright and related rights objects (audiovisual work, phonogram, computer program, data collection, book) and issue them to users on a contractual basis, to determine the legality of their creation, to control the distribution of control marks on the above-mentioned objects, to maintain the state register of these objects.
The application of control marks on copyrighted products in our country, as well as the relevant work carried out by the Agency with other government agencies in the direction of affixing control marks to goods imported into the territory of Azerbaijan in accordance with the legislation is of great importance in terms of consumer protection.
In July of this year, the Center for Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights under the Intellectual Property Agency and the Center for Educational Technologies of the Institute of Education under the Ministry of Education began cooperation in issuing control marks for copys of copyright and related rights objects.
A total of 350,000 control marks have already been printed and handed over by the Center for Intellectual Property Rights to ensure the legal use of control marks on the order of the Center for Educational Technologies in accordance with the "Rules for the form, registration, use and issuance of the control mark" approved by the relevant decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
