On November 15 2023, Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov met with the delegation headed by Grigory Ivliyev, the president of the Eurasian Patent Office, which is the executive body of the Eurasian Patent Organization (EAPO).

Referring to the role of intellectual property in the development of the economy, M. Jabbarov said that in the field of determining the share of intellectual property in the economy, especially in the field of determining the volume of the creative industry, researches are being conducted with the joint participation of experts of the Intellectual Property Agency and the Economic Scientific Research Institute under the Ministry of Economy.

At the meeting, issues related to further strengthening of relations between EAPO and the relevant institutions of Azerbaijan, adding 3D models to claims in our country, creation of EAPO's Pharmaceutical register were discussed. The role of the patents and commercialization of technologies in creation of new jobs was mentioned, and the necessity of increasing attention to this area was emphasized.
