The delegation of the World Intellectual Property Organization visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The delegation led by Mr. Hasan Kleib, Deputy Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Mr. Jeyhun Bayramov, Minister of Foreign Affairs noted that there are extensive cooperation relations between the relevant bodies of Azerbaijan and WIPO, and informed about a number of directions of the activities carried out in our country in the field of protection of intellectual property. He drew attention to the changing of our place names during the 30-year occupation of our territories by Armenia, looting or renaming of cultural assets and cultural heritage objects belonging to Azerbaijan, appropriation of other examples of cultural heritage.

At the meeting, the guests were informed about the intensive reconstruction and restoration processes carried out by Azerbaijan in the post-conflict period, the beginning of the process of the return of internally displaced persons to their native lands and the danger of mines buried by Armenia was specially mentioned as the main obstacle to this process.

H. Kleib expressed satisfaction with the existing cooperation between Azerbaijan and WIPO, that the Intellectual Property Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan set an example for the activities in this field of a number of countries, and that Azerbaijan made a valuable contribution to international cooperation in this field. He pointed out that there is potential for cooperation in the direction of education in the field of intellectual property.
