The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with the President of the Eurasian Patent Office, Grigoriy Ivliev
On November 16, 2023, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov received Grigoriy Ivliyev, president of the Eurasian Patent Office. During the meeting, it was emphasided that the development of intellectual property institute in Azerbaijan is at the forefront of the country's leadership's attention, with extensive structural reforms being undertaken in this field and management being optimized.
To the directions of development of the intellectual property sphere are given a separate place in such state important documents as "Azerbaijan 2020: vision of the concept of future development", "Azerbaijan 2030: national priorities of socio-economic development" and "Socio-economic development. Economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2022-2026".
The importance of cooperation between the Intellectual Property Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Eurasian Patent Office, as well as mutually beneficial activities within the framework of international organizations was highlighted.
President of the Eurasian Patent Office, Grigoriy Ivliev expressed agreement with the points raised, emphasizing the broad spectrum of possible collaboration in the field of intellectual property, including the training of relevant staff, registration of patents, and application of unified standards.
In order to promote relations in the field of intellectual property, the importance of continuing contacts at the level of management and staff, meeting through events such as conferences and round tables and discussing both bilateral and multilateral cooperation was expressed.
During the meeting, other issues of mutual interest, including collaboration between the Eurasian Patent Office and other international organizations, recent trends in the field of global patent applications, as well as elections to the relevant EAPO structures were discussed.
