6 universities of our country entered the TOP 1000 in the "QS 2026 World University Rankings"

For the first time in the history of Azerbaijan, 6 of our higher education institutions have been included in the TOP 1000 best universities in the world. In the newly announced "QS 2026 World University Rankings", the number of Azerbaijani universities has increased to 9. Six of our universities have been included in the international ranking for the first time.
Baku State University, which achieved the highest result, rose to 688th position. The positions of Azerbaijan State University of Economics (801-850) and Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (851-900) have increased significantly compared to last year. For the first time, Azerbaijan Technical University (851-900), Baku Engineering University (901-950) and Khazar University (951-1000) have entered the TOP 1000 of the rating. Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction (1001-1200), Sumgayit State University (1001-1200) and ADA University (1201-1400) also entered the global rating for the first time.
It should be noted that Azerbaijan ranks 2nd among the 106 countries represented in the "QS 2026 World University Rankings" in terms of the number of new universities. Positive dynamics are observed in the indicators of Azerbaijani universities on the indicators "Academic reputation", "Reputation among employers", "Faculty-student ratio", "Share of foreign teachers", "Share of foreign students" and "Employment results".
According to the results of the aforementioned international ranking, our country is the leader in the South Caucasus region. The number of universities from Azerbaijan included in the ranking is 3 times more than the total number of universities from other South Caucasus countries included in the ranking.
