The next event in the series of webinars on technology transfer of the High Technologies Park of the Ministry of Science and Education was held on January 23, 2025. Akbar Aliyev, Assistant to the Chairman of the Board of Intellectual Property Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan for Legal Affairs participated in the webinar "Science for Science or Science for Society?", which was held with the support of the Education Development Fund.

Sanem Yalchintash, founder of Catalysade Technology Transfer Inc. participated as a speaker in the webinar. He is a renowned expert in the field of innovation and technology transfer with over 25 years of experience in academia and the private sector, and has been a member of the Executive Board of TUBITAK’s Technology Transfer Mechanisms Group (TEMEG) since 2019.

The ways to transform academic research not only into scientific studies but also into real social and economic benefits were discussed in the webinar.

The importance of applying scientific research to the real world in the field of innovation and technology transfer, including various activities such as patents and entrepreneurship was emphasized in creating an impact on innovation and society.

A. Aliyev answered questions in detail from the participants regarding the commercialization of inventions that are the subject of patents, and at the same time provided extensive information about the state policy pursued in our country in the field of technology transfer and commercialization and the activities of the Intellectual Property Agency.

He emphasized. on the issue of commercialization of patent objects of the Intellectual Property Agency and provided a detailed explanation to all researchers about the institution's support mechanisms in this direction.
